Geraci told Sputnik radio that the victory of Donald Trump leaves Obama’s “pivot to Asia” policy in question. It seems safe to describe the mass upswell of support for the unconventional Trump as a loud cry to change business as usual.
Interviewed by Sputnik Radio,Geraci argues that: “Chinese’s model is indeed a system that is not in touch with the modern world, but it is the best system for China because China lives in a different era, because China’s level of development is not comparable with what we have in other parts of the world. It is like a country that lives a century earlier, but the system that China has now is probably the best for China in this historical moment. We should be careful when we criticize China on monetary policies as we may find out that they are actually more reasonable than those of ECB and FED.”
Geraci was interviewed by Agi China 24 Radio. He said the city of Hangzhou was undergoing a major infrastructure work during the G20. It has penalized the citizens in the short terms with many factories and retail shops being closed, sometimes with very little compensation for the owners. This is the negative impact in the short term. But in the long term, the infrastructure of the city has been improved. The citizens could start to enjoy better connectivity and better underground lines. The area around the west lake also has been further embellished. So overall, the G20 brought the city of Hangzhou short term pains but long term gains. Click to listen the full Radio (Italian).
