Britain is providing the platform for world powers, as host of the Group of Seven (G7) industrialized nations this year, to gather for the first time in person since the COVID-19 pandemic swept across the globe. Before Friday, Johnson have a prime opportunity, to secure some one-on-one time with Mr Biden and to renew UK-US ties after four turbulent and unpredictable years under Donald Trump.
The G7 is a group of people that think alike and there is some value in that, but the problem that the world is facing: pandemic, climate change and other problems that can’t be solved just by talking with people that agree with each other that it almost makes the meeting useless, if I may say, if everyone comes and lives with the same idea.
I’m actually uh more inclined to engage the rest of the world with East, Asia, the South, India, with Africa with South America because these are global problems not only of seven countries.
There is a debate, people meet each other, there is value in that but they are not inclusive and we try to solve the global problem in a non-inclusive manner.
